Congratulations to the IPRAWA for a successful Nationals - the first one held in Perth.  A lot of hard work from the organizing committee paid off.  Thanks also to the interstate/territory competitors who made the long trek across the sandpit.  And of course Congratulations to WA's own Kevin Ledger for taking out the title!

Personally I had a disappointing weekend.  After weeks of hard work from all my crew & helpers there were a number of issues with the car that prevented us from achieving a good result.  Severe handling problems, lost 5th gear Sunday morning (careless I know!), battery charge problem and a severe misfire that could not be diagnosed.  I was very disappointed with not being able to compete in the final race and to race against the best improved production cars and drivers in the country. Maybe next year!?!?

What a fantastic weekend! A big entry list with some new cars and drivers. A wet qualifying session made an exciting start to the day, I had a big moment on top of the hill when the rear wheels spun in 4th gear on top of the hill and sent me side ways off the track. I have to say woke me up. I was happy with the car and was glad the rain held off for the three races. Shame the accelerator cable came loose in race 2 causing retirement (DNF). Check out the incar video on the video page!

Fast Fours & Rotaries Article

Fast Fours & Rotaries July 2010Grab a copy of the July 2010 issue of Fast Fours & Rotaries Magazine.  It   features an awesome article on my s14 as well as showcasing some of the IPRAWA cars and drivers.

Just spent a great weekend up at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin as a spectator/helper.  7 IPRAWA cars made the journey with 2 of our boys finishing 1st & 2nd and a total of 4 in the top 10 which was a great effort.

Thanks to Jason's pallets & Daynite towing for making the transport possible! Good on the NT government for supporting motor racing by paying a generous tow allowance.

Entertaining weekend (for spectators!)  I think that IP put on a great show.  Good sized crowd at wanneroo.  The car bears the tell tale signs of some hard racing but really happy that the overheating issues have been sorted.  Should find some more speed when I get the go fast motor back in as was running the spare which was slapped together the week before this race!

3 months break until the next round so plenty of time to plan some further development.

Again, thankyou to my fantastic pit crew and everyone who came on Sunday to support us!

After stripping the engine we found a crack in the block.  This was created during the machining process 2 years ago!  We believe that this has been causing the overheating problems. Engine has been rebuilt and refitted (thanks Steve & Jeff!).  Started it today and it sounds good!  Currently fitting the rear wing & front undertray.

Bummer!  3rd in qualifying but car was overheating badly & pushing out water so decided not to race & risk further damage.  Suspect cracked head so now have 4 weeks to try & get it sorted.  Congratulations to Kevin Ledger for winning the round.  Enjoyed being a spectator - lots of carnage - there is going to be some busy panel beaters over the next couple of weeks.

Changing the cooling system AGAIN!  Fitted an electric waterpump and in line thermostat.  Still waiting for the new radiator to arrive.  Off for a wheel alignment on wednesday and dyno on thursday.

Wow - what a great start to the year!  1st place & a new IP lap record - see results page for details.  I would like to thank Steve & Jeff for doing an awesome job to get the car ready in time.  My pit crew worked tirelessly on the night trying different things in between races to optimise the car's performance.  A big thank you to Willie, Sean, Jeff & Les Turpin and everybody who turned up to cheer us on!  I will post some video footage shortly.
